William Reginald Shute, 10th Viscount Barrington (July 27, 1873 – October 4, 1960) was the son of Walter Buckley Barrington, 9th Viscount Barrington of Ardglass and Mary Isabella Bogue.

He was born at Westbury, Buckinghamshire. He was educated at Trinity Hall, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire. He succeeded as the 4th Baron Shute of Becket, co. Berks [U.K., 1880] on 12 September 1933. He succeeded as the 10th Viscount Barrington of Ardglass, co. Down [I., 1720] on 12 September 1933. He succeeded as the 10th Baron Barrington of Newcastle, co. Limerick [I., 1720] on 12 September 1933.

In 1895 Violet Gordon-Woodhouse entered into a mariage blanc with John Gordon-Woodhouse. His reasons for entering into the marriage are unclear. In 1899, William Barrington moved into the marital house, joined later by Max Labouchere and Denis Tollemache. This arrangement was referred to in society circles as the "Woodhouse circus".
