Queer Places:
Frederiksberg Old Cemetery, Frederiksberg Allé 71, 1820 Frederiksberg, Denmark

Arthur Frederik Feddersen (February 16, 1835 - February 27, 1906) was a prominent Danish fishery expert, author, and educator. A large number of letters from Joachim Reinhard to Arthur Feddersen, an older and fatherly adviser, and to his contemporary, the author Karl Larsen, are preserved. They illustrate closely, on the level of the individual, the workings of the social process that made Reinhard a feminine homosexual.

Born in Copenhagen to Peter Feddersen, a mayor and justice councillor, and Bolette Kirstine Kock. He attended Sorø Academy (1846–1853) and later the College of Advanced Technology (Polyteknisk Læreanstalt) in Copenhagen.

He worked as a teacher in Copenhagen schools (1854–1861) and later served as an adjunct at Viborg Cathedral School (1861–1883).

His interest in natural history led him to focus on fishing. In 1865, after studying hatching techniques in Norway, he founded the "Fiskeriselskabet for Viborg og Omegn" (Fishery Society for Viborg and Surroundings) and established a trout hatchery. He traveled extensively throughout Germany, France, and other regions to advance his knowledge of the industry.

He was a prolific writer and editor. Together with district judge H.V. Fiedler, he began publishing Tidsskrift for Fiskeri (Journal of Fisheries) in 1865. In 1884, he helped found the "Foreningen til fiskeriernes fremme i Danmark" (Association for the Advancement of Fisheries in Denmark), where he served as secretary and later as a consultant, continuing his leadership when it merged into the Danish Fishery Association.

He was awarded the Gold Medal of Merit in 1874 and became a Knight of the Order of the Dannebrog in 1888. He is buried at Frederiksberg Old Cemetery.
