Flora Clift Stevenson (October 30, 1839 – September 28, 1905) was a prominent Scottish social reformer, philanthropist, and educator who dedicated her life to improving the lives of impoverished children and championing women's education.

Born in Glasgow on October 30, 1839, she was the youngest daughter of James Stevenson, a merchant, and Jane Stewart Shannan. She grew up in a large family and moved with them to Edinburgh in the 1850s, where she lived for the remainder of her life.

Stevenson was a pioneer in public schooling. In 1873, she became one of the first two women elected to a school board in the United Kingdom. She served on the Edinburgh School Board for the rest of her life, eventually becoming its chair. Her work included establishing industrial schools for neglected children and advocating for improved curricula for girls.

Along with her sister, Louisa Stevenson, she was a committed advocate for women’s suffrage and expanded university access for women. She was involved in numerous organizations, including the Edinburgh National Society for Women’s Suffrage and the Women’s Liberal Unionist Association.

In 1905, in recognition of her tireless service to the city’s educational and social welfare, Flora Stevenson was awarded the Freedom of the City of Edinburgh. Other notable honors included an honorary degree (LLD) from the University of Edinburgh in 1903 and the naming of the Flora Stevenson Primary School in her honor in 1899. She died in St Andrews on September 28, 1905, and is buried in the Dean Cemetery in Edinburgh.
