Emily Selina Goodford (1856 - February 21, 1920) was born in Eton, Buckinghamshire, the daughter of Charles Old Goodford (Provost of Eton College) and Katharine Lucia Law.

Growing up as the daughter of the Provost of Eton, Emily came from an established and well-connected background.

Emily met Agnes Hunt while Agnes was working at the Salop Infirmary.

Agnes shared her pioneering ideas and ambitions regarding orthopedics with Emily. Emily became not only Agnes's lifelong romantic partner—affectionately nicknamed "Goody"—but also the driving operational force behind realizing Agnes's medical dreams.

Together, Emily and Agnes established The Baschurch Home in Baschurch, Shropshire.

In October 1904, the home opened its doors, receiving its very first patients—four boys and four girls.

Baschurch became a revolutionary institution, serving as a pioneer for: Dedicated orthopedic hospitals. Early preventive medical treatments. Rehabilitation and teaching disabled individuals how to adapt and navigate their new lives.

Dame Agnes Hunt remembered Emily with deep affection and distinct admiration, writing: "Had she been well-dressed and her hair done in a later fashion, she would have been an exceedingly handsome woman. As it was she was unique."

Emily Selina Goodford passed away on February 21, 1920, in Baschurch, Shropshire, England, leaving behind a profound legacy in the history of British orthopedic nursing and medicine alongside Agnes Hunt.
