After finding out he's HIV positive, Jake retreats to a life of isolation in the New Mexico mountains. His quiet life his shattered when his daughter Lisa, a grad student in wildlife biology, launches a rescue mission for a family of wolves.

When Lisa gets in trouble, Jake teams up with biology Professor Nathaniel, to find Lisa in the Blue Range Wolf Recovery area, determined to save the wolves and bring his daughter safely home. What he doesn't count on is falling for Nathaniel. Can Jake let himself give Nathaniel a chance?

Iraq is a dangerous place for Marines to fall in love. Far from her Navajo family and the homelands that hold her heart, Jessica finds a warrior. Brian is strong and resolute. She’s the kind of woman he can build a life with, a life filled with love. Jessica trusts him, and knows that nothing can happen to her while he is watching over her. Almost against her will, she finds herself falling in love.

But Jessica and Brian are Marines, working in a war zone, and enemies surround them. A roadside bomb was planted under their convoy. Brian saw the IED. He raced to save Jessica and her best friend Cheri. Jessica and Brian were reaching for each other when the bomb exploded.

Months pass before they meet again, at the hospital in Bethesda. Though both are seriously injured, the love that had flowered between them flares bright with passion, and they reach out again, determined this time to save each other, and to have the life together they were meant to have.

Clayton and Luke walk the border roads together, trying to recapture a love that was almost destroyed by pride and anger. Chris finds love and salvation with a lost girl who needs a savior, and Gary comes home to find a world he does not understand, one changed beyond his recognition.

The bonds of love and brotherhood, forged on the battlefields of Iraq, will be sorely tested in the Borderlands.
