Yonejirō Noguchi (December 8, 1875 – July
13, 1947), was an influential Japanese writer of poetry, fiction,
essays, and literary criticism in both English and Japanese. He is known in
the West as Yone Noguchi. He was the father of noted sculptor
Isamu Noguchi.
Amy Sueyoshi additionally traces Charles Warren Stoddard's affair with Yone Noguchi through their passionate correspondence to one another.[13] In the film Leonie, Stoddard (portrayed by Patrick Weathers) is shown being flirtatious with the character Yone Noguchi.[14]
