William Mitchell Van Winkle (December 5, 1885 - November 14, 1965) was a member of the Horace Walpole Society, elected in 1935.
He was born in New York City, New York, on 5 Dec 1885 to Edgar Beach Vanwinkle (1842-1920) and Elizabeth Mitchell (1846-1894). William Mitchell VanWinkle married Mary Laird Busk (1892-1973) and had 3 children: William Mitchell Van Winkle (1913-2004), Mary Laird Van Winkle (1914-1992) and Edgar Beach Van Winkle (1916-2002). He passed away on 14 Nov 1965 in Rye, Westchester, New York, USA.
