Queer Places:
Saint Boniface Cemetery
Winnipeg, Greater Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
Jean-Pierre Soulodre (April 21, 1920 – February 27, 1999) was a Canadian former priest, teacher, civil servant, and community leader
separator.
As a younger man he served the Roman Catholic Church as an Oblate Father. After leaving the priesthood, he became a teacher and married; after his wife's death he came out as a gay man. After retiring from the civil service, he became actively involved in Winnipeg's gay community; Soulodre joined Winnipeg's Unitarian Universalist church and co-chaired their Welcoming Committee.
