Charles Russell Hewlett (October 30, 1872 - November 11, 1913) was an American professor. Hewett was studying at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts during the same years that Robert Allerton was in Paris; their friendship probably dates from that time. In 1904 Russell Hewlett embarked in an around-the-world cruise with Allerton. He later became Dean of the School of Applied Design at the Carnegie Institute of Technology in Pittsburgh.

Charles Russell Hewlett was born in Brooklyn, NY, the son of James Augustus Hewlett (1835-1890) and Mary Elizabeth Sanderson (1841-1917).

He died in Pittsburgh, PA.
